Bespoke fedoras, blocked to your head
A hat block cut to the shape of your own head, hare and beaver felt bodies, and a brim finished by hand in the workshop.
The Hat
Heads are not round. Blocks should not be either.
We take the shape of your head with a conformateur — a brass instrument that reads the outline in thirty-two points — and cut a linden block to match it. Every hat after that is pulled over your block and no one else’s.
Bodies are hare and beaver felt, pounced down until the nap runs one way, then blocked wet, dried slow, and shaped over three days. Crowns are creased by hand: teardrop, centre dent, diamond, or the flat top you asked for and nobody else offers.
Your block is kept in the workshop. A second hat takes four weeks, not ten.

The Cutting Room
Lower crown, 2¼ inch brim bound in silk. Cut to sit under a coat collar without fighting it.

The Wide Brim
3½ inches, raw edge, centre dent. Weather and presence in equal measure.

The Homburg
Curled brim, single gutter crown, bound edge. For the morning coat and the funeral.

The Trilby
Short brim, sharply tapered crown, in lighter weight felt for town.

The Panama
Hand-woven Montecristi straw, blocked on your block, for the summer commissions.
- Fitting
- A conformateur reading in thirty-two points, plus crown height and brim width checked against your frame. A linden block is cut and kept on file.
- Felt
- Hare, beaver, and beaver-blend bodies from a single European felt house. Grades from 20X to 100X. Montecristi straw by season.
- Blocking
- Blocked wet on your own block, dried three days, pounced by hand until the nap lies one direction. No steam shortcuts.
- Finishing
- Crown creased by hand — teardrop, centre dent, diamond, or flat. Brim raw, welted, or bound in grosgrain or silk. Sweatband in kid leather, stamped with your name.
- Colours
- Twelve house felt shades, from cigar and pecan through granite and onyx. Matched to a cloth on request.
- Lead time
- Ten to twelve weeks for a first hat; four thereafter. Delivered in a house travel box.
- Aftercare
- Complimentary annual clean, re-block and re-crease. Bands and sweatbands replaced at cost, for the life of the felt.
